Highbridge and Burnham micro-providers is a project run by locals for locals. Community organisations, businesses and residents have come together to build a network of people who care about and care for those that live within our communities. Together we are forming community cohesion and ensuring those that live amongst us that need a little bit of help, gain it from local people.
We are a local network of micro-providers of care and support services in and around Highbridge, Burnham and the surrounding villages. This might include services and support that offer people help to:
· assist with their personal care
· co- manage their home or garden
· support with things like shopping, hospital, trips finances etc
· Meeting friends, pursuing hobbies, companionship
We look to build a team of volunteers for both simple office tasks and befriending activities
We are also engaging with other compatible organisations.

Highbridge and Burnham network is a source of information about what might suit a client or clients family best, for their package of care .The client can then make a decision as to the best course of action for their care needs.
The local network is not a managed care service and is not legally responsible for the care and support you receive or the actions of any provider. Although ,as a network we do our own checks with micro-providers, in order for them to be able to be in the network and have access to work. It is down to the client or family to make sure they also ask the micro-provider to provide necessary documentation. Clients should control their own care package as they will be the employer. Micro-providers do not control in any way care packages.
By using a Highbridge and Burnham micro-provider, you can be assured that the care provider is safe and legal and have all the up to date certificates and paperwork in order.
The micro-provider will provide services to the client, as agreed.
Times and schedules can then be created.
At Highbridge and Burnham Network, we are guided by the local council with regard to a level of quality assurance. We are well established and have a reputation for quality person centred care.
Highbridge and Burnham Trusted Carers have teamed up with 10 other care projects across Somerset, to work together and bring communities together to improve the quality, accessibility, and sustainability of adult social care.
The community projects will help people find care and support networks close to their home.
The Somerset Cares Alliance will share ideas and set priorities to help each community come together. Volunteers, families and communities will unite to ensure that no one gets left out and everyone is cared for and supported.
Please take a look at the video below explaining the role and purpose of the Somerset Cares Alliance.
