How to become a Highbridge and Burnham Trusted Carer
To become a Trusted Carer you must have the following in place. Our team will support you and assist in you in gaining these.
- Build a service portfolio to evidence that you are safe, high quality and professional (documents include DBS, Insurance, Contract, Complaints Procedure, Assessing Risk, Safeguarding).
- Know Your Boundaries – Generally speaking Trusted Carers do not have to be registered with CQC? However, if you are carrying out certain tasks you will need to register. Make sure you know the boundaries and comply within the law.
- Understand the opportunities but also the risks and responsibilities that come with being a Trusted Carer.
Once you have agreed to become a Trusted Carer, you will sign to say that you agree to our Quality Standards and our Code of Conduct, which is in line with all other recognised networks within Somerset, to give a consistent, safe and legal service to those in need of support in our County.
